Hahaha!...that was my very first introduction to Beef Stroganoff many many blue moons ago!
BTW, I've used the basic Stroganoff recipe (from scratch, natch!) and made Quails Stroganoff....Outstanding! When we lived in SC my husband used to hunt...he brought a whole mess of quails once and I used several of them for the Stroganoff - 2 per person - everyone raved!
I've never tried to make it with quail but that sounds really good!
I grew up with those cans of soup in the cupboard and they were used often. I find myself moving away from using the processed foods (especially the ones high in sodium). But I have to admit to having a couple of those cans in the cupboard now and I do eat 'junk food' occasionally. ;o)
