Same with any foods that have been butchered up to please American tastes over the generations. Authentic is hard to find cause the ingredients have changed too. Not saying yours is icky or wrong. Just don't have an old Hungarian to comment on the issue.

Note I put in the caption "Hungarian STYLE". Not 100% authentic, true, the only way to make it goulash....

And the recipe I used as a base was authentic... I just used ground beef because that is what I had on hand.

So if it isn't "authentic" you should at least say so in your caption. Make clear where the divergence is between authentic and your imitation of Hungarian goulash. Be honest. If you don't know anything about Hungarian cooking then simply state that and say this is the first time I've tried it. But to present somthing false is not honorable.

Keep making your style, and many more. I always toss stuff together, and give it the name goulash. Nice to make foods that suit our tastes. Perhaps I wouldn't care for the flavors of something made "authentically"? I won't bring this subject up again. :)

"Style" ... "authentic" ... not seeing where some (or one) has the reading comprehension of a 12 year old. But then again, a "member" since 2006 and only comes in once in a blue moon to make ridiculous comments. Wait, didn't this id used to go by a different name?
