Sonia, thanks. Your input is invaluable. I was so concentrated on the staging that I didn't notice my apprentice eating away at the props. Haha, one of the hazards of food photography and teaching, eh? It turned out well nonetheless. She's learning and I'm happy with the result.

You're welcome...I miss him and I know you must miss him so much more...
As I mentioned somewhere else when you were asking for side dish ideas...I keep some of his recipes 'on speed dial'

Sonia, I've learned that when one is serious about food and you are fortunate enough to find a great and knowing mentor, you have to hold on tight. Now he's gone and it's leaving a huge gap in my life and my knowledge because of the way he would email and challenge me. I knew what I knew because he made me be certain that I knew it and didn't just think it. It's a terrible loss but I keep on in an attempt to be what he thought and believed I was or could become.

As long as you do he will never be gone completely, Donna. As you pursue your knowledge you will continue to hear his voice in your mind. I firmly believe that.

Thanks, Sonia. It's a hard thing to loose a valuable teacher and he was that-- as well as a dear and heartfelt friend who chatted with me casually and seriously good. What a great guy from food to politics to cooking to friendship. It's a grave and unfortunate loss.

Oh my! That chicken looks wonderful! Funny story about your assistant. I bet she/he was mortified! I can see how tomatoes would add color and life to the photo. That's my interior design background speaking!
