Dove Promises Cinnamon Graham Cookies Sassy likes Dove chocolate. She prefers Ghiradelli and Lindt, but Dove Promises are good. I picked these up because of the "Exclusive Flavor" banner, and I like cinnamon and graham crackers and chocolate. The "Exclusive" is to Walmart, so all you Walmart haters are going to luv this. Seriously! From the package: "cinnamon graham cookies in milk chocolate" These did not work for me. It was "yuck!" at first bite. I just don't care for the combination of cinnamon and chocolate. I ate two or three, and then set the bag in the kitchen closet, with intentions of doing a review on them. That was last summer. I am probably going to regret saying this, because it is embarrassing, but.... When I went to take a photo of these today, I unwrapped a couple and there was something wrong with them. To say it delicately, frass. Frass inside the individual wrappers, frass inside the plastic bag. My house is air-conditioned. The freshness date on these is February, 2013. Now I know where those little stray moths I noticed last fall in the house probably came from. Yep, that is right! Some freakin' worms or bugs or something hatched out of these miserable chocolates. Must have been from the "graham" ingredients. GAG!! This is terribly upsetting to me, because I loathe anything like that in my house. Excuse me now while I go throw these in the garbage bin out back and scrub that closet from top to bottom with hot Mr. Clean. On a scale of one to ten, Sassy awards Dove Promises Graham Cracker Cookies a -25. Yes, that is a minus 25. I swear that I will never, ever buy any Dove chocolates ever again. Walmart ... get these the h*ll off your shelves!

I hope your husband came come home from the hospital soon!
I did not necessarily expect a bad result. I purchase Lindt and Ghiradelli chocolates at Walmart with no problems.
Either one is yucky but together they are disgusting!
I save a lot of money at Walmart over shopping at the "locally owned" grocer (where the cashiers are rude and consistently overcharge me because they "accidentally" counted too many items in my purchase). I save almost $1 per day just on cat food at Walmart. That adds up to over $300 a year, which pays three months of my summer electric bill. And, being on a fixed income, that is important to me. I will not deprive my kitties of their favorite cat food just because I won't shop at Walmart.
Last summer, when I needed ginger root for that tomato jam, the root at the "locally owned" market was blue all the way through and did not even smell like ginger root. That was mold. The root at Walmart was fresh and half the price. That is not something I can find at the farmer's markets here.
Last week, the limes at the "locally owned" store were disgusting. The trees must have had a disease, they should have been thrown out, but they were trying to sell them. I have found that Walmart has the freshest produce of any store I have ever been in.
How much money did you waste on those candies?
A couple of bucks, but I did not expect to be throwing them out. I frequently purchase items that say "new" or "limited" because I used to really enjoy doing my product reviews on Gather. It was something I found interesting and wanted to 'share' here.
It's not something I ever would have done so I love that you did this
That makes me feel stupid.
I do like those semi-expensive chocolate dipped ice-cream bars they make though... meow.
I have enjoyed eating Dove chocolates (like you, my favorites are Lindt and Ghiradelli)...I do like chocolate with a touch of cinnamon...but I would not have bought these because of the Graham crackers.
Don't take me wrong. I love Graham crackers with a cold glass of milk. I love 'Smores!...but there is something about Graham crackers as a pie or cheese crust that I just cannot like no matter what... Except for 'Smores, anything combined with Graham crackers seem to be too "cloyingly sweet" for my taste...
PS...have you ever noticed the gorgeous whisk in the Lindt commercials? I WANT one of those!
When it comes to chocolate, I really don't like milk chocolate. If these Dove chocolates were dark chocolate I would most likely like them. I don't mind the combination of chocolate and cinnamon.
But is it bad that this phrase made me snicker? "hot Mr. Clean"
