I wait all year for tomatoes from my garden. The flavor of garden fresh tomatoes is superior to any tomatoes I have ever purchased at a grocery store.
My favorite thing to do with fresh tomatoes? BLT sandwiches. I eat a couple dozen of them every summer.
My favorite way to make a BLT? Read on....
Heat nonstick skillet over medium heat.
Lightly butter two slices of whole wheat bread, and then sprinkle with garlic pepper seasoning.
Toast bread in skillet.
Remove bread from skillet to plate.
Place a slice of cheese on one of the bread slices. Today I used new Kraft Big Slices Jalapeno Cheddar. It added a nice flavor kick. Other cheeses, like Swiss and American, are excellent choices, too.
On the other slice of bread, liberally spread Miracle Whip, the bread spread from Kraft!
Add lettuce, thick slices of garden fresh tomato and at least three slices of bacon.
Grab a napkin and a glass of something cold to drink and enjoy your BLT!
BLTs taste best when eaten in a chair out by the garden.
How do you make your BLT?

I do miss some of your presentations with borders & colors ... :(
Yeah, store tomatoes are so disappointing. I do buy them in winter sometimes because I luv tostadas and cannot have one without tomato.
And of course, I use mayo. Bring out the Hellman's, bring out the best!
hahahahaha!
Yeah, that jalapeno white cheddar cheese was great on the BLTs.
Next is green beans. The store bought ones taste so different.
During the winter I buy tomatoes on the stem. Not nearly as good as the ones from my garden but better than any other full size bought tomatoes.
