I made this quite a while ago. It was SO good! Sounds gross, but it really is flavorful.
1 lb smoked or Polish sausage, sliced
1 large jar or bag sauerkraut
1 cup yellow split peas, soaked overnight and drained
Add everything to a large Dutch oven or pot; cover with water. Simmer til peas are tender, about 2 hours, stirring often.
