Page 35 of Carla Vavala’s book “Fusion of Food and Friendsâ€. I’m sure you know about this easy way to make homemade fries? If not, the result is so good and better than Micky D’s (or at least from what I remember…it’s been YEARS since going to the Golden Arches).
- 1 1/4 lb potatoes (I used 4 medium potatoes)
- 2 TBS red wine vinegar
- 1 TBS olive oil (I used the Rosemary infused oil – DELISH!)
- 1/4 tsp salt (Guilty – think I added about 3/4 tsp for salty fries)
- Cooking Spray (In place of non stick spray, I used non-stick FOIL)
Preheat the oven to 450 F.
Cut the potatoes lengthwise into 1/4 x 1/4 inch strips.
Place in a large bowl with the vinegar and cover with hot water. Allow to sit for about 5 minutes.
Drain and pat dry.
Combine the potatoes with oil and salt and toss to coat.
Add to baking sheet in a single layer.
Bake for 35 minutes, turn over and bake about 10 minutes more or until lightly browned.
Quick, very few ingredients, not so unhealthy, and they’re really, really good.
