Polskiyeh Tushenehyeh Bobeh - Polish Stewed Beans

Yield: 4 servings
1 lb String beans
1 tb Butter
1 tb Flour
1/2 c Cider vinegar
1 tb brown sugar
1 1/2 ts Cinnamon ground
1 ts Crystalized ginger
36 ea Whole cloves
Cut string beans into 1" long pieces.
Cover beans with water then add 1 ts salt.
Bring beans to a boil then cook until tender.
Melt butter in a saucepan then stir in flour.
Stir this roux continously until flour is as brown as peanut butter.
Add water in which beans were cooked.
Add vinegar then stir in brown sugar.
Season to taste with cinnamon, ginger & cloves.
Allow sauce to boil.
Add beans reduce heat then allow to simmer for 10 mins.
Serve beans with a beef or pork roast.
