My review of Lipton Tea & Honey To Go Packets

When I was told on Klout that I'd been selected to receive a free sample of Lipton's new Tea & Honey To Go Packets, I was only mildly impressed. In fact, I went into the page expecting to be told I had to pay for or join something to get my sample. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw they really were not up to anything and Klout was really just rewarding my efforts. (BTW, if you happen to see my Klout profile, give me a +K for Yahoo or writing or something, please.)

A few days after I gave them my information my tea packets arrived. Being a regular tea drinker, I decided to try one of the packets right away. Besides, it was hot outside and a glass of tea sounded great.

Normally, I don't like instant tea. And flavored teas seem a threat to all things sane and civilized to me. But this stuff is different. The flavor I was sent was the Mango/Pineapple and it was actually good. No icky instant tea aftertaste at all. The packets are about the size of those little “Crystal Lite” packets you see people use and each one takes about 16 ounces of water for a glass.

They say the tea is sweetened with honey and I do like my tea honey-sweetened. They seem to have succeeded in making it taste just right. Like I said before, no crappy after-taste at all. This tea would work great for guests and friends who stop by to visit.

I'm looking forward to trying the other flavors these come in – blackberry/pomegranate, lemon, peach/apricot, strawberry/acai and black currant/strawberry. If they're as good as this flavor, they've likely found a new customer in me. Give it a try for yourself. It's pretty good.
