As last season ended this was perhaps the most top heavy position in Fantasy Baseball. The parity was helped out a bit this season with Miguel Cabrera and Hanley Ramirez joining the fray. There are a lot of heavy hitters here now. These rankings are based on Head to Head Scoring.
Third Basemen Rankings 04/26/12:
1. Evan Longoria TB 74.5 Points
2. Chase Headley SD 74 Points
3. Pablo Sandoval SF 66 Points
4. Mike Aviles BOS 66 Points
5. Edwin Encarnacion TOR 65 Points
6. Miguel Cabrera DET 64.5 Points
7. Hanley Ramirez MIA 59 Points
8. Michael Young TEX 58 Points
9. Adrian Beltre TEX 57 Points
10. David Freese STL 57 Points
Sell High: David Freese is looking fragile as of the first month and although he has been hitting home runs his value may never be higher and there are similar players on the waivers in seasonal leagues.
Buy Low: Aramis Ramirez MIL is in a solid lineup and can rake. His average has been in the toilet but, he is known to be hot in the warm months and still should be top 10 by season's end.
Player to Watch: Mike Moustakas KC has be producing at an average rate so far this season but the former #2 pick overall has a lot of talent and could come on as Lawrie began to break out last season. I'd wait until he hits his next slump to make a trade offer for him.
