Valentine's Day is one of the busiest days in the restaurant and greeting card business, and the top busiest day for flowers. Unfortunately I am single this year, and have no one to spend it with. I have enjoyed making a special day for my significant other of the day, sometimes I would have to be a day early or a day late as I have worked in the food biz most of my life, but.
I have only "gone out" once for valentine's day. I know how crazy it is on that day with restaurants having their couples specials. More often I would cook something, or if I worked, I would get some flowers or candy. I like to keep it small but intimate instead of braving the crowds. Spending time together with a rented movie or 2, some adult beverage, and a special treat was much better. Maybe a flower or stuffed animal delivered while she was at work.
So, what are you doing on Monday???

I bought a heart shaped waffle maker and will make the guys either plain, pink, or chocolate heart waffles on Valentine's as well......love to spoil them.....LOL!
They generally get me a beautiful bouquet of flowers in a lovely vase, along with a helium balloon, so Valentine's Day is a HUGE event at the Davenport house!!!!!
Oh....and I also made two huge heart shaped trays/baskets of Valentine's goodies for hubby's co-workers, at two terminals.....his home one and then the other in Moline, IL.....he took them to work on Thursday night! They loved the goodies!
