I found this recipe in our local paper just in time for our next football party and I can tell you that it was a hit. So if you want a winning recipe for your upcoming Super Bowl party - try this - it's easy as 1 - 2 - 3 - 4.
* Beer Dip *
INGREDIENTS:
- Two (8-ounce) packages of softened cream cheese (so try to remember to lay it out on the counter until it feels soft - I didn't and it was tough to blend by hand, should have used my mixer instead anyway.
- One (7-ounce) bag of shredded cheddar cheese (I used a whole package of Mexican Cheese blend instead)
- One packet powdered Ranch dressing mix (I intend to experiment with a package of powdered leek or onion soup next time, just for variety)
- Six ounces of beer - I added a bit more since it was not dippy enough for me - I mean I wanted a smoother, softer consistency.
My recommendation - if you like it spicy - by all means add some hotsauce or horse radish or wasabi.
Beer Dip makes a great appetizer for a crowd
I put some aside for Richard to munch on while watching
Monday night football

Bon Appetit!

PREPARATION:
Mix all ingredients - blend well with beater and chill for at least one hour.
SERVE with - what else - those fat pretzel rods and or the chips and crackers of your choice.
Optional - I chopped up a couple of green onions for a little extra texture and color.

Love the photo/image too!
I was out of pretzels so I had to photograph it with the crackers Richard prefers it that way.
