Last night I was making homemade pizza for dinner. I make a dough with half whole wheat and half all-purpose flour, which makes it just a little bid healthier than the original pizza dough.
When I make pizza, I roll out the dough, and then I put it in the oven at 425F to bake on my Cuisinart pizza pan just a little bit before I add the toppings. Well last night I had a screaming baby, two fight boys and I was exhausted from just doing an exercise dvd, so I will admit that I might have lost focus for a few minutes.
While I was losing focus, my oven decided to play a trick on me. When I went to take out the pizzas to top them, I realized that it was basically impossible. This is what I found:

I had made two mistakes. 1) I did not poke the dough with a fork before putting it in the oven, and 2) I left it in there for two long.
This is what it was supposed to look like.

Â
Fortunately I have made pita bread before, so instead of pizza I now had pita bread.

I put the pita bread aside, and then I made the rest of the dough into pizzas.
Â

Â
We had pizza with spinach, pineapple, red onion and homegrown cherry tomatoes.
Â
It was quite tasty, and even the baby wanted to eat pizza after he finished his pizza.
We still have leftover pizzas for lunch today, but tonight we will be having pita bread for dinner, it will go perfect with hummus and salad.
Have you ever made your own pita bread?
What was the latest cooking/baking mistake you made?

Pita bread sounds sooo good too!
Great post.
If we get done shopping early enough, I think we might make pizza tonight. We have A LOT of shopping to do, though. :)
The pizza looks delicious, too!
