Things You'll Need:
- Frozen bread dough (thawed)
- Mozzarello cheese
- Sausage, Pepperoni or Canadian Bacon
- I can of diced tomatoes
- Olives (if desired)
- One or all of the following: red onion, bell pepper, mushrooms (your choice)
- Olive oil or egg wash
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
Step 2: Saute sausage or canadian bacon with the onion, bell pepper and mushrooms.
Step 3: Roll out the thawed risen dough into three circles on a floured surface. A sanatized cleaned countertop will do.
Step 4: Mix the cheese, sauteed mixture, tomatoes and olives (if desired.)
Step 5: Fill each circle with approximately 1.5 cups of the sauteed mixture.
Step 6: Fold over the calzone and seal; brush each calzone with an egg wash or olive oil.
Step 7: Allow the prepared calzones to rise for 15-30 minutes, or put directly into oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
