How To Make Strawberry Dessert Soup
By: Teresa T.
The first time I had cold strawberry soup was when a friend of mine took me to a quaint lunch diner for my birthday...many many many moons, or should I say birthday's ago. It was one of the best soups that I have ever tasted. Though I had it for an appetizer. I quickly realized that it would have made a great dessert! What is a more perfect ending to a scrumptious meal than with a tasty tantalizing dessert such as this one? None that I can think of! This unique soup will definitely do the trick!
Instructions
Difficulty: Easy
Things You'll Need:
- 2 (10 ounce) packages strawberries or raspberries
- 1/4 cup of dry red wine
- 1/2 cup of powder of sugar
- 2 tablespoons Cointreau or Grand Marnier
- 1 cup of sour cream or yogurt
- Whipped cream
- cantalope
Step1: Thaw the fruit and puree it in a blender. Â If using raspberries, mash them through a sieve to remove the seeds.
Step2: Combine all the ingredients, except for the whipped cream and cantaloupe. Blend smoothly.
Step3: Chill the soup overnight. Â Garnish the soup with a dollop of whipped cream and/or sliced cantaloupe. Â This recipe serves 4.
