Using 1/4 large head of cabbage from the Farmer’s Market, I whipped up a small batch of my favorite coleslaw. The recipe I used is my old stand by. Now I just need to figure out what to do with the rest of the cabbage…
2 lbs pork sirloin steaks
Pork Rub (I used my Weber sample)
1/2-1 can beer
Sprinkle rub over steaks til well covered. Cover and let marinate for 1-2 days in the fridge.
Preheat grill on medium low indirect heat.
Wrap steaks in heavy duty foil, leaving a small vent at the top of the packet. Pour in beer.
Grill steaks for 1 1/2 hours, or til tender and falling apart. Sprinkle with additional rub before serving.
My Favorite Coleslaw
1/4-1/2 head fresh cabbage, shredded
1 cup mayo
1 t apple cider vinegar
1 T celery seed
salt and pepper to taste
sugar to taste
Mix mayo through sugar. Toss with shredded cabbage. Cover and refrigerate for at least an hour.
The corn was steamed in a veggie steamer bag.
Delicious!

Stuffed cabbage rolls? Fried cabbage in a little bacon grease with a few bacon pieces mixed in.
momma cee was here for lunch yesterday. when you see her, ask her if she enjoyed it. she may have told us "yes" to be polite.
Mesquite is a smoky flavor, Rob. You would like it. And we are having leftover pie for dessert. Will be making something new very soon!
This dinner sounds great btw!
Now, if you've never wanted to take cooking advice from me, I understand. However, you MUST try this with your next batch of corn on the cob. First, fill up the sink with cold water and put the corn in it (DUH what the hell else would you fill up the sink for??). Leave it for about 20-30 minutes. Remove from the water and place on grill for the same amount of time you let it soak. I swear that it was the best tasting corn EVER.
I did soak this stuff, but I had these steam bags to use. And I've never really liked my corn on the grill. Don't know why. I mean, I would still eat it right up...
It sounds like such a wonderful meal!
Rob, get to posting it!
Jennae, I put dill in my potato salad, but have never tried it in coleslaw. Sounds good!
pffft. i need my space.
Thanks!
