Easy Sloppy Joe Bake (courtesy of Betty Crocker Bisquick cookbook)
Ingredients:
1 lb. ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 can (15.5 oz.) orginal sloppy joe sauce
1 C. shredded Cheddar cheese
1 C. Orginal Bisquick
1/2 C. milk
1 egg
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Cook beef and onion in ovenproof 10-inch skillet over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until beef is brown; drain. Stir in sloppy joe sauce. Sprinkle with cheese.
2. Stir remaining ingredients until blended. Pour over beef mixture.
3. Bake uncovered about 30 minutes or until golden brown.
My notes: This was So good! Next time I might use half ground sausage with the beef for a bit more zest. I used dehydrated chopped onion as I didn't have any fresh onions on hand. Also, I don't have any ovenproof skillets, so after my husband browned the hamburger, I transferred it over to an 8x8 baking dish, that was the perfect size. Everyone in the family loved this, there were NO leftovers, so next time I'm definitely doubling the recipe!
