This is the time of year when I always have apples on hand and it's time to make desserts and pies.
Topping:
1/3 c. corn flakes
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. peanuts
3 T. flour
2 T. melted butter
Filling:
4 c. cubed apples
2/3 c. caramel topping
2 t. lemon juice
Preheat oven to 400°. Spray an 8" square pan with cooking spray.
Combine flakes, sugar, nuts and flour. Add butter.
Combine apple, juice and caramel. Spoon in to pan. Sprinkle with topping. Bake 20-25 minutes.
Caramel and apples are a match made in heaven!
Top with whipped cream and vanilla ice cream if desired.
